The Ultra Shallow Foundation Bollard Pad Receives a K8 Rating
RSA reaches another milestone. The US Department of State, Office of Diplomatic Security issued another certification letter in July for a successful K8 rating achieved on April 20, 2005 at the KARCO Engineering test facility in Adelanto, California, for the 6.5" RSA/K&C Anti Ram Foundation Bollard Pad System. This ultra shallow system has a 5" base with a 1.5 inch concrete cover. According to the Certification Letter and the KARCO Test Report the test article sustained contact with the 15,000 lb vehicle speeding at 40mph resulting in a vehicle rebound of negative 56 inches. The bollard post was deflected only 3 inches.
